The Coordinator, Data Governance will work closely with the Data Governance Manager and the Director, Data Governance to implement and support the firm’s Data Governance procedures and to ensure the proper handling, tracking, and destruction of incoming data. Responsibilities will include inventorying incoming data, tracking destruction requirements, supporting ongoing disposition processes, and responding to data subject requests. The role will also support a variety of Data Governance initiatives, in close collaboration with Analysis Group’s administrative departments.

 

Critical skills required for the role include very close attention to detail, strong written and oral communication ability, excellent organization, customer service, project management, initiative, and collaboration.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of data disposition program: Work with the Data Governance Manager and Director, Data Governance on the implementation and ongoing management of data disposition program.
  • Facilitate process improvement and automation: Analyze existing business processes and optimize for efficiency and scalability. Where possible work to implement business process automation in collaboration with team members and Information Technology teams.
  • Assist with data tracking and oversight: Inventory all incoming personal data and track data with specific destruction requirements. Assist with ensuring proper handling and destruction of data and compliance with firm policies, client requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and address requests to Data Governance team mailbox: Respond to time-sensitive requests from consultants. Requests may include but are not limited to the proper handling and tracking of incoming data.
  • Assist with responding to data subject requests: Work with the Data Governance Manager and members of Analysis Group’s Legal team to respond to data subject requests, including EU and California residents.
  • Assist with ongoing project management: Organize team projects, track project status and action items, coordinate and schedule team meetings, develop meeting agendas and minutes, and assist with team project documentation.
  • Support strategic Data Governance initiatives and special projects: Support the Data Governance Manager with cross-functional Data Governance initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of substantive relevant experience required.
  • An ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of postgraduate professional experience.
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Experience with workflow automation software (e.g., Power Automate, UI path) or basic programming concepts (e.g., loops, conditional logic) preferred.
  • Experience with data governance practices (e.g., records management, retention schedules) is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team on projects.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and be flexible to respond to shifting demands.
  • Must exhibit a desire to learn, participate, and take ownership of tasks.
