Our Practice Development team collaborates closely with senior leaders in AG’s practices to support efforts to enhance each practice area’s service offerings, client base, and market presence. The core focus of this role is to serve as a key liaison between practice area leaders and our Marketing department as well as other key administrative departments across the firm. This team is also responsible for developing pitch materials and presentations; planning and executing client-facing and internal business development events; coordinating practice-specific mailings, publications, and awards submissions; monitoring the impact of our practice-specific marketing efforts; and supporting other practice specific activities – frequently in collaboration with other members of the Marketing department.
This position requires strong collaboration across the Marketing function. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a large professional services environment and demonstrate exceptional project management skills, strong organizational abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication. A meticulous attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a collaborative, can-do attitude is essential. The candidate should also be highly proficient in leveraging a range of software applications—including CRM/experience platforms, databases, presentation tools, Microsoft Excel, and document management systems—to support business development, client communications, and marketing efforts.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Practice Partnership
- Collaborate with practice leads and senior consultants to develop and facilitate practice-related initiatives and tactical execution for one or more practices, tailored to the unique goals of each practice.
- Act as the primary point of contact between consultants in assigned practice(s) and the Marketing department.
- Meet regularly with senior consultants to learn areas of focus and goals of individuals, and work closely with them to build and implement business development activities in tandem with department colleagues.
- Market and Client Development & Visibility
- In conjunction with our consultant practice leads, identify, evaluate, and manage profile-raising events including sponsored industry events, AG hosted events, in-house presentations for clients, and professional speaking opportunities designed to enhance market visibility.
- Coordinate and prepare ranking submissions; work with practice leads to determine rankings strategy for each submission, draft and finalize submissions accordingly.
- Propose new target markets/clients to consultants, along with strategies and tactics to pursue. Close integrated work with colleagues focusing on lead generation and research will be essential to help map strategy and support that moves leads to securing business, along with analytics to increase new business outcomes.
- Pitch & Experience Development
- Support proposals and pitches, including drafting relevant case experience, tailoring bios, and developing new stock content for the firm’s experience database and proposal generation tool.
- Collaborate with consultants our editorial team on the development of compelling practice-related marketing collateral; this may include website descriptions, brochures, and other public facing materials.
- Internal Coordination
- Assist with planning and facilitating practice area meetings and coordination of follow-up tasks.
- Team support
- Act as a mentor to junior team members (specialists and coordinators).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 8 years of substantive relevant experience in professional services marketing, business development, or practice development required.
- Experience in a consulting, financial services, or law firm strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish credibility with senior leaders in the practice and bring to bear the right mix of confidence, tact, and persistence in working with both consultants and professional staff in a multi-office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to gain consensus through influence, presence, and positive discussion Required.
- Collaborative, team-first orientation and an inclusive approach to working across stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, including ability to develop project plans and set deadlines to meet practice objectives, manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

- Strong Microsoft Office capability, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams; experience with CRM tools a plus.
