Assistant Legal Counsel provides thoughtful legal advice and support to Analysis Group’s consultants and internal administrative teams in support of Analysis Group’s day-to-day business operations. This position handles a diverse range of in-house legal matters, with a focus on contracts, and assists in risk management on a firm-wide basis.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Contracts - Work independently in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts with clients and vendors, including engagement letters, consulting agreements, data license agreements, confidentiality agreements, statements of work, and office contracts. This includes analyzing contract terms to identify and mitigate risks and working collaboratively with consulting and administrative teams (Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology and Security, and Operations) regarding contractual obligations.
  • General In-House Advice – Provide practical legal advice to consulting and administrative staff on a diverse range of topics. This work may involve legal research and collaborating with legal team colleagues on long-term projects pertaining to legal subject areas that are a priority for the firm.
  • Risk Management – Assist in risk management on a firm-wide basis. Work on improvement of certain business processes with an eye for increasing efficiency and reducing risk to the firm.

 

Qualifications:

  • JD required.
  • Minimum of four years of legal experience required.
  • An ideal candidate will have five - eight years of substantive relevant experience.
  • A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to tailor advice to circumstances at hand.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with compliance issues associated with pharmaceutical research, data privacy and security matters, and/or litigation support a plus.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Enjoys contributing to a collaborative team environment.
