The Technology Counsel provides thoughtful legal advice and support to Analysis Group's consultants and internal administrative teams in connection with the firm's global technology operations and strategic initiatives. This position focuses primarily on negotiating technology-related agreements and partners closely with other administrative teams to manage legal risk while supporting the firm's evolving technology needs. This position also serves as a key resource for communicating legal guidance and best practices related to technology vendors and emerging technologies across the firm.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Technology Contracts – Work independently in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of technology-related agreements, including AI vendor agreements, software license agreements, SaaS agreements, managed and professional services agreements, and IT infrastructure agreements. Analyze contractual terms to identify and mitigate risks in balance with the firm's strategic technology objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner closely with Information Technology, Information Security, AI Operations, and other administrative teams throughout the technology procurement lifecycle. Provide practical legal guidance on technology-related matters, assist in evaluating vendor risk, and help develop efficient contracting processes and standards.
- Technology Risk Management – Advise on legal issues relating to the acquisition, implementation, and use of technology solutions, including emerging technologies and AI-enabled workflows. Identify emerging legal and regulatory risks and recommend practical approaches to support the firm's responsible adoption of new technologies.
- Firmwide Communications and Guidance – Develop and deliver practical legal guidance, communications, and training materials regarding technology-related legal issues, contracting requirements, AI governance, client and vendor obligations, and applicable legal and regulatory developments. Serve as a trusted legal resource for consultants and administrative staff on technology contracting matters.
Qualifications:
- JD required.
- Minimum of five years of legal experience required.
- An ideal candidate will have six to eight years of substantive relevant experience.
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology-related agreements required.
- Experience advising on technology procurement, information security, privacy, and AI-related legal issues is preferred.
- Experience engaging directly with IT, product, and/or engineering teams is preferred.
- Strong understanding of technology contracting principles, including licensing, intellectual property, confidentiality, data protection, and cybersecurity provisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to translate technical and legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
- Excellent judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Analysis Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated salary range for this position is $220,000–$240,000. Compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including work experience, education, and skill level.
